HUMAN RIGHTS AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS

Altın Yunus, a member of Yaşar Group, manages its human resources policy with the aim of employing innovative, highly motivated and high-performing, qualified workforce and increasing its commitment by making this workforce sustainable. In Yaşar Group, equal opportunities are offered to every candidate without discrimination on factors such as nationality, religion, gender, age and marital status.

As in all its activities, Altın Yunus follows an approach that is in accordance with universal principles in human resources management. Equal opportunities are granted to employees in all human resources processes such as recruitment, salary, performance evaluation, promotions, assignments, training and development. In addition to internationally recognized principles such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles and ILO Conventions, Altın Yunus continues to work towards the preparation of an Institutional Human Rights and Employee Rights Policy in which full compliance with the legal framework and legislation regulating human rights and working life in Turkey is committed. Once the policy is established, it is aimed to spread it to all business partners. All these principles are included in the Code of Business Ethics Guide and collective bargaining agreements signed with third party companies as a company policy, and they are also shared with the public through the corporate website.

In the light of the principles of "science, unity, success", Altın Yunus brings together educated and experienced individuals who are open to information sharing, who value the spirit of unity and are open to all science-based developments, who adopted success-oriented work with a participatory management approach in order to strengthen and develop the human resources of the company, with the knowledge, skills and experience criteria required by the positions.

While organizing various training activities to ensure employee satisfaction and loyalty, Altın Yunus supports the participation of its employees in training activities in order to support both their personal and professional developments. The company participates in projects that support the development of its employees at all levels, from beginner to senior management, through programs such as talent management, development and mentoring carried out within the community.

As a member of the Yaşar Group, Altın Yunus attaches utmost importance to human rights, equality, career development and occupational health and safety, and other corporate standards and practices. The "Occupational Health and Safety Policy", was created with the philosophy that occupational health and safety can be ensured not only with physical protection equipment, but also with the support by the personal and social activity and development of the employees. This policy is shared with all employees. Trainings are held to raise awareness and inform employees about occupational health and safety, all the time.

Altın Yunus organizes training programs to inform and raise awareness of its employees in the fields of environmental, social and governance. The Group's vision for sustainability is shared with all employees.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

Altın Yunus, which provides services with an average of XX employees in 2021, attaches great importance to its in-house activities related to occupational health and safety. Determining these two concepts as a priority in its business processes, Altın Yunus employs doctors and nurses to serve its guests and employees. At Altın Yunus, where Occupational Safety Expertise services are received throughout the year, near-miss reports are issued and fire and evacuation drills are carried out at regular intervals. Trainings on personal protective equipment are also provided for employees to use during the exercises.

Within the scope of occupational health and safety;

  • In 2021, as the effects of the pandemic continued, occupational health and safety trainings for employees were intensified and repeated.
  • Actions were taken on the issue of risk disposal by starting with the most risky determinations. Previously determined risks were monitored.
  • The regulation of hazard identification forms was continued.
  • Necessary periodic checks were carried out on the facilities and devices and areas used by the employees.
  • Trainings on waste recycling were given.
  • Periodic checks were carried out on mechanical and electrical issues.

EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

In order to maintain and develop the quality standard in all the services it offers, Altın Yunus pays attention to select its employees from individuals who are trained, have a high sense of belonging, are open to development and attach importance to team spirit. Altın Yunus ensures that its employees receive trainings for their professional, technical and individual development any time of the year and offers the opportunity to benefit from different trainings on social issues.

Trainings received by Altın Yunus employees in 2021:

Presentation skills, working order, environmental protection and economy, prevention of terrorist acts, culinary arts, guest welcoming and hosting, sales packages and communication with guests, automation and energy, cultures around the world, corporate culture and communication methods and first aid training.

Altın Yunus provided an average of 15.72 hours of training per person and a total of 755 hours of training in 2021 according to the positions they held in accordance with the training infrastructure developed in electronic environment.

HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY

  • In the Company, employee teams are determined by the criteria of business economics and all employees accept that honorable work is only possible with efficient work.
  • In order to ensure the development of the employees, internal and external training programs are implemented within the framework of the plan determined at all levels.
  • Equality of opportunity is taken into account for the promotions and assignments within the organization, assignments are made, in principle, from among internal employees.
  • By applying development plans, with the career planning system, career opportunities for the employees with potential are provided in the widest way.
  • The employee's performance assessment is carried out based on the achievement of goals and his/her competence.
  • Job descriptions and performance standards are documented for every position from the highest level to the lowest and this system is used as a basis for employee evaluation.
  • Ensuring safe working environments and conditions is an issue that our company attaches great importance to. Within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, all legal measures are taken to prevent occupational risks, to protect health and safety, and to eliminate risk and accident factors. Improvement continues with regular meetings.
  • Our management style is "... to maintain our existence as a company that acts in accordance with the laws and moral code, adopts the overall quality philosophy and participatory management style."
  • It is essential that our employees receive equal treatment without discrimination on the grounds of language, race, color, gender, political and philosophical opinion, religion, sect and similar factors. Necessary measures have been taken to protect this basic constitutional right of employees.

Adopting the principle of taking good care of all its stakeholders with the understanding of offering a better life, Altın Yunus carries out work on energy, water and reducing waste in order to minimize the effects of service delivery processes on the environment.

APPROACH OF SUSTAINABILITY

Within the framework of the Approach of Sustainability adopted by the Yaşar Group, of which Altın Yunus is a member, we share the values created with the understanding of "for a better life" by "taking good care of" our business, employees, society, business partners and the environment. Altın Yunus, which manages sustainability by determining its strategies and targets, in line with Yaşar Group Sustainability Policy, understanding and priorities, in order to develop its sector, reflects the understanding of "taking care of all its stakeholders for a better life" to all processes from procurement to consumers.

Altın Yunus Çeşme closely monitors the developments related to the climate crisis and considers the climate crisis as an important risk that brings economic and social as well as environmental impact. With the risk assessments carried out throughout the entire value chain, Altın Yunus continues to work to reduce its carbon footprint and energy intensity, and considers the balance of natural resource use and conservation with the awareness of its ecological footprint, especially its carbon and water footprint. Acting in accordance with environmental legislation, Altın Yunus acts on the basis of high-level efficiency by using natural resources in the most efficient way. With the signing of the United Nations Global Compact in 2007 by Yaşar Holding, Altın Yunus Çeşme is also included with its information and data in the reports prepared on the basis of the basic criteria of the Global Reporting Initiative. Sustainability Committee, which has been expanded with the increase in representation from Yaşar Group companies, the central application, established with the Climate Crisis Working Group and the Gender Equality Working Group, handled in the same way in companies. Altın Yunus Çeşme continues to carry out its sustainability activities under the coordination of the "Sustainability Committee" formed with the participation of the company's employees within the framework of the determined priorities and the "Company Climate Crisis Working Group" and the "Company Gender Equality Working Group" affiliated to the committee. The Committee and working groups are working to ensure that the implementation of strategies, the achievement of goals and the sustainability approach prevail throughout the Community. Altın Yunus Çeşme Sustainability Committee, which is also responsible for the implementation of Environmental Social Management Policies, takes an active role in many works performed within the year. 

While the Sustainability Committees work on the dissemination of good practices in the field of sustainability within the Group companies, the Sustainability Leaders in the companies carry out studies on the follow-up of the performance indicators determined, to achieve the targets and the coordination of the annual sustainability report. The Yaşar Holding Sustainability Committee meets every two months, the Climate Crisis Working Group, once a month, and the Gender Equality Working Group again every two months to share the practices of companies. In committees and working groups, representatives of all companies act together to create projects in a subject-oriented manner, following their goals. Within the scope of the priorities of the Sustainability Committee, the Board of Directors of Yaşar Holding leads the implementation of the Sustainable Development Policy, by enabling companies to carry out sustainability studies.

As a requirement of Yaşar Group's holistic sustainability approach, Altın Yunus deems it a responsibility to extend the understanding of sustainability beyond its own corporate structure, operations and products, to the suppliers with whom it interacts with, with the awareness of improving and developing the entire value chain from product supply to reaching its clients. In its sustainability work, Altın Yunus continues to take actions in line with the meticulously determined targets for each area, and to expand its sphere of influence by sharing these experiences with its suppliers. By adopting the policy of "Management of environmental, social and economic impacts of products and services throughout their life cycle and promotion of good practices", it is aimed to develop and strengthen the solid bond with the stakeholders on the supplier map which was established within the scope of this policy and the determined supplier policy. The selection of suppliers and business partners, which are among the most important parts of the value chain, is carried out within the framework of Environmental Responsibility, Commercial Integrity, Fair Labor Standards, Human Rights and Compliance with the Law, and thus, it is aimed to contribute to a sustainable future.

In order to ensure that an awareness of sustainability is established and disseminated among employees in Group companies, "Yaşar Sustainability Competition", which has been organized since 2016, "Yaşar Sustainability Day" organized since 2018 and the projects and trainings carried out during the year, also take an active role.

ENVIRONMENT-ORIENTED WORK

In line with its understanding of sustainable environment, Altın Yunus implements many projects in order to minimize the impact of service delivery processes on the environment. The facility, which continues to improve energy consumption, water and waste saving, separates the 100% recycled papers, glass and plastic packages it uses in this context at the source and directs them to the relevant facilities. Altın Yunus, which carries out studies to use geothermal energy more intensively in the facility, ensures that waste water is treated and used for garden and forest irrigation.

Altın Yunus' Environment-Oriented Works:

  • In the studies financed within the scope of TUYUP (Increasing the Adaptability of Employers and Employees in the Tourism Sector) carried out in cooperation with the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, Altın Yunus was one of the "Best 15 Sustainability and Environmentally Friendly Hotels".
  • The implementation of ”electric vehicle charging stations" has been continued.
  • With the waste food control project "WINNOW", production planning and food waste prevention efforts were continued in the kitchen.
  • Thanks to the thermal insulation applied in the marina rooms, energy use was reduced.
  • The use of electricity supplied from renewable energy sources was resumed.
  • All of the domestic wastewater in the facility was treated and its use in garden irrigation was continued.
  • Water extraction from caisson wells and its purification with reverse osmosis systems were continued at the facility.
  • Work was carried out to improve the water quality. It was ensured that the detergent was used more economically in order to reduce hardness of water and to pollute it less.

Altın Yunus Blue Flag Turkey and Turkish Tourism and Development Agency shared know-how with each other regarding all the mandatory and voluntary platform.

FUTURE GOALS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Focusing on implementing new works with a continuous quality understanding, Altın Yunus aims to meet the cooling, heating and electricity needs of the facility in this context. In line with this goal, the company continues its research on trigeneration and cogeneration systems.
 

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

With all its resources, Altın Yunus supports the reproduction of knowledge about the environment, the development of new business models and a cautious approach to environmental challenges. All companies affiliated to the Yaşar Group operate with the principle that "In cases where there is a danger of serious or irreversible damage to the environment, the lack of scientific certainty cannot be used as a reason for delay in taking cost-effective measures to prevent damage to the environment."

Aiming at economic growth as well as improving the environment and developing society, Altın Yunus has integrated its responsibilities towards its employees, consumers, customers, suppliers and society with its corporate strategy. As a reflection of environmental sensitivity, which is one of the most important elements of this corporate strategy; Altın Yunus aims to fulfill its commitments to improve products, processes and services that consume less resources, to reduce the impact on the environment by measuring, to use energy and natural resources efficiently, to reduce waste, wastewater and emissions as well as the use of toxic and hazardous chemicals.

QUALITY-ORIENTED STUDIES

Leading its activities with the goal of sustainability and 100% customer satisfaction, Altın Yunus continued to offer the highest quality and fastest services with innovative solutions to its guests in 2021 as well. Altın Yunus, by receiving feedback from its visitors about their experiences in the facility through digital channels and surveys, follows the evaluations of its visitors with the "Guest Satisfaction Measurement System". Reaching the comments in digital media with the international platforms it uses, Altın Yunus develops its services and solutions with the valuable data it obtains about the sector and its customers. The digital survey data, which is evaluated and interpreted by the expert team, is used as a road map in the stages of organizing accurate and effective marketing and sales activities. In this context, in 2020, which passed under the shadow of the pandemic that affected the whole world, 81.75% customer satisfaction rate was obtained from visitors from over a total of 960 comments through digital media and surveys, while in 2021, the rate was calculated at 80.36% from over a total of 1571 comments.

In the calculations made from the most widely used Google, Tripadvisor, Holidaycheck and Booking online review sites, the level of customer satisfaction was as follows: From

  • Booking.com, it was based on a total of 960 reviews in 2020 and 7.5 out of 10 points were obtained. This rate was calculated as 7.4 out of 10 on the basis of a total of 1571 comments in 2021.
  • Google: Based on a total of 960 reviews in 2020, 4.1 out of 5 points were obtained. This rate was calculated as 4.1 out of 5 based on a total of 1571 comments in 2021.
  • Tripadvisor: Based on 960 total reviews in 2020, a score of 3.5 out of 5 was achieved. This rate was calculated as 3.5 out of 5 on the basis of a total of 1571 comments in 2021.
  • Holidaycheck: Based on a total of 960 reviews in 2020, it was rated 4.3 out of 6. This rate was calculated as 4.3 out of 6 based on a total of 1571 comments in 2021.

 Fulfilling food and hygiene practices within the scope of ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management System, Altın Yunus provides services that prioritize health with the "Safe Tourism Certificate" that it has been entitled to receive during the pandemic process. Altın Yunus contributes to continuous customer satisfaction thanks to its collaborations with supplier companies that have adopted the principle of responsible and stable work. With regular inspections performed on suppliers, a high quality standard is maintained in all products and services to be offered to the guests.
